Get back

I didn't think I was going to get anything done today. The baby has caught some sort of stomach bug and had a rough 24 hours of upset stomach and diarrhea. The woman who usually comes on Saturday morning to babysit my daughter so I can have a few moments of sanity (it's the only time that I'm not at work when someone else regularly looks after one of the kids) called in sick. I was bummed, but it's the first time in 4 years that she's been sick - she's amazing.

But, tonight the hubby and I watched a movie - possibly the first time in the last six months that we have done so. We watched Sideways, which was engaging enough to keep me awake (I know, not a rousing endorsement. Was I not the only person who wasn't enthralled with this movie?). So instead of my usual paltry amount of knitting I got a good two hour chunk and am as far as the armhole shaping on the pullover for my daughter.

It feels good to get a decent amount accomplished in an evening. Of course I should have gone to bed two hours ago and I will regret it when the baby wakes up screaming two hours from now, but hey, you make your choices.

You are not alone. John and I were rather "meh" on Sideways as well.
