Flashback tunes

One of my dearest friends told me about a new radio station in our area... MX FM and I am completely hooked. Their main tag line is "we play music from the 70's, 80's... whatever we feel like".

Some of the songs I have heard in the past few days...
"Boys of Summer" by Don Henley.
"It's Raining Men" by The Weather Girls
"Open Arms' by Journey (and FSM help me, I still know every note and every word of that song...)
"White Lines" by Grandmaster Flash
"Crocodile Rock" by Elton John
"Don't Leave Me This Way" by Thelma Houston

and it goes on. It's so very odd to hear music on the radio that I haven't heard in twenty years. It's amazing how much I still remember of so many of those songs. It's been fun to listen to, and to think about what my kids will think of the music I like.

When I was little my mom liked Johnny Mathis, Neil Diamond, Simon & Garfunkel, the Beatles. I remember liking some of it, but thinking a lot of it was goofy. Now I like and still listen to a lot of it (except Johnny Mathis - I still think he's goofy).

What music did you listen to in your teenage years? Do you still listen to it?

Let's see ... anytime I hear Billy Joel, Huey Lewis, Ray Charles, Phil Collins -- gotta sing it out! (Y'know, gotta embarass the teenager any way you can...hee, hee) Actually, he mostly listens to KFOG and sometimes sings along too.
