better late...
I'm probably going to set a record for longest time between a Harlot visit and a blog post about it. But Jill keeps telling me she wants to see my brush with Knitting fame...
WOW! That's really the main thing that comes to mind - WOW!
Stephanie is just as funny, intelligent, articulate and engaging in person as you would ever hope she would be. There's sometimes a hint of a worry in this kind of a situation that the person won't be nearly as great in person as you think they will be, but not so - she's fabulous!
The Harlot came to our neck of the woods in early September, and I laughed harder and had more fun than I would have thought possible. I met up with some coworkers (including my boss, who is just that great of a person, and Kathy in San Jose from the comments) and we saw the Harlot, had dinner together, and then I went back to get my books signed. And that is when I had my brush with fame...
the Harlot taking a blurry picture (I'm assuming it was blurry, they often are)

the Harlot waiting to sign books (I include the backdrop with the name of the yarn store - Full Thread Ahead. They did a great job of hosting the event).

and yes, a photo of me holding the sock!

If you ever have the chance to see her speak, I heartily recommend it - it's worth the effort!
Next post, I promise, will be about something that happened less than two months ago!
