Medical fun
Today at lunchtime Buddy shoved a piece of apple up his nose.
Far up his nose.
Far enough that neither the pediatrician nor the ear/nose/throat specialist was able to remove it.
Apparently it is a large enough piece, of a crisp enough apple, shoved far enough up under the bone that it is stuck, but good.
We were given two options:
-take him to the hospital to be put under general anaesthesia so the e/n/t could get up in there and get the piece out or
-wait a while and hope the apple rots to the point that it is soft enough to get out without having to drug the boy insensible.
We are going with the second option for now. He doesn't seem to be that uncomfortable, and although it took him a long time of screaming to fall asleep, I don't know if that was from physical discomfort or just general distress at his whole day (he really didn't like haven't pincers, tweezers, grabbers and suction tubes shoved up his nose).
I am completely fried. I'm going to have a glass of wine, and contemplate what will happen next.

Oh, my dear - so sorry you had to go through this.
It was easy to see when I visited that he likes to put things in his nose. Maybe he'll stop now?
